On the weekend of the 12th January the Eryri schools held the tumble and vault qualifiers for all ages, both boys and girls. Ava (Year 7), Nia (Year 8) and Abby (Year 11) all competed at Eirias Park for a chance to progress further. Abby came first on both the tumble and vault in her age category (under 19s girls) which meant a spot in the Welsh finals in March. She also got the highest scoring tumbling score in the whole competition!

On the 8th March, Abby travelled to Cardiff to compete in the Welsh schools tumble and vault finals, held at the Sports Wales National Centre. Abby came first overall in her category and again achieved the highest tumbling score in the under 19s category. She now has a spot in the Welsh team and is able to compete in the British finals in May. The Eryri under 19s team placed second overall.

“The British Finals will be my first time representing Wales and my first time competing in a British competition!” said Abbie after the event. Congratulations Abby, well done to all for their contribution to the Eryri team and best of luck for May.
