Anne Lewis Memorial Garden:  Week 2

Anne Lewis Memorial Garden w2

Full sunshine might not be the easiest weather for heavy gardening, but this week students and staff took full advantage of the glorious weather. It’s been wonderful to see the school come together as a community to work on this space.  Activities this week included removing turf and digging up some absolutely monstrous root-balls, to clear the way for our new garden.  As you can see, the area is shaping up very nicely.  So, what’s next?

It’s time to improve the soil in preparation for the new plants by digging in some fertiliser - a task which isn’t nearly as smelly as it sounds.  Forks and spades at the ready, everyone!
