The Anne Lewis Memorial Garden (Week 1)
Before her very sad death, Anne Lewis was a life coach almost as much as a respected English teacher. She is still much-missed as a member of the St Gerard’s family ...
This week, students have been helping the caretakers prepare the groundworks for a Memorial Garden dedicated to her memory. The lovely weather demonstrated how well the site had been chosen: a gorgeous sunny spot nestling amongst mature trees and overlooking the rockery and main school entrance. We were delighted to have Mrs Lewis’ son visit us to oversee the works beginning; he told us that his mother had loved nothing better than to relax in her own garden with a decent book.
Thank you to the students who volunteered their time and effort this week – it was a hive of activity and appreciation for Mrs. Lewis. We look forward to bringing you regular updates and photographs as the project develops into a place to relax, reflect and remember.
