Helping others in our community

Charity plays a fundamental role in the development of our pupils.  Charity provides an opportunity for pupils to consider the needs of others.  Pupils are encouraged to work towards contributing to the community by fundraising for various local and national charities.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Each year we join in the fund raising for this very worthy cause. There are over 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer today and by 2030 it will have risen to 4 million. Macmillan provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support and because cancer affects more than just those facing it, they are also there for friends and family too.

Foodbank

Here at St Gerard’s we are all aware that there are people in our own communities who need help to survive. During the course of each year we collect non perishable food items which are then delivered to collection points for distribution among those in need.

Shoebox Appeal

Each year we fill shoeboxes with items to help those children less fortunate than ourselves. These are sent to the poorest parts of Eastern Europe to make it a Christmas to remember!
